Square quilted and tufted blanket made from a cashmere shawl, second half of the 19th century, shawl featuring a black star-patterned ground bordered at the ends by elongated fleurons framed by curved cashmere palm motifs filling the alternating spandrels of ogival fleurons. Cut-warp wool weave (a few holes). Floral cretonne lining, circa 1890, 160 x 160 cm.
