Master’s Thesis by an Apprentice Cooper - Lot 4
Master’s Thesis by an Apprentice Cooper Made of wood, including oak and wicker. Consists of a pyramid of twenty-one small barrels with round cross-sections for twenty of them and an oval cross-section only for the top one. Assembled with staves and wicker hoops. Completed by five small tapping spouts. Circa 1800 H. 54 cm - W. 56.5 cm One spout is missing, and some wicker hoops are loose or missing Reproduced in the book “La passion du savoir-faire - Collection Pierre Hénin,” Atelier Baie, 2011, page 103. It is noted that each stave joint between the barrels is re-drilled, allowing the liquid to flow from one small barrel to the next, with the entire assembly thus forming a single large container.
