-PROUST, Marcel. Autograph letter signed. S.l.n.d. 2 pp. small in-8. Mourning paper. "My dear friend. You are too kind to have taken the trouble to send me this article. The muses always leave something of themselves in what their divine hands have touched, and the words of those they have loved, whether they speak... of Jules Renard or Pierre..., always remain similar to those of the muses, 'musical'". It's not a matter of indifference to write these lovely articles of criticism that you were (and still are, and always will be) an exquisite poet. ? only that it's he who but speaks in a delightful way. It's all written to perfection, and I say astonished that you've read the things you're talking about, which is unfortunate. And you know English painting contemporary with La Sizeranne! [Robert de La Sizeranne, "La Peinture anglaise contemporaine", in Revue des Deux Mondes, 15-1-1895, 354]. Your friend. Marcel Proust".
