GEORGE SAND (1804/1876). 2 L.A.S. to Victor Duruy. Nohant, O - Lot 175
GEORGE SAND (1804/1876). 2 L.A.S. to Victor Duruy. Nohant, October 20, 1863 (1 p. ½ in-4) and Palaiseau, October 11, 1864 (3 pp. in-8, with envelope "à monsieur Duruy pour lui seul G. Sand"). Letter of thanks after his intervention on behalf of his niece. "Madame Simonet's gratitude is well earned. There is something more mingled with mine, the feeling of the exquisite delicacy with which you understood that my request was dictated by feelings worthy of you [...]". The second letter also thanks him for the scholarship he was able to obtain for his niece's second son.
