In-4°, ruby-colored morocco, first plate decorated with a set of gilded fillets depicting Pantagruel's silhouette, with a castle in the corner, interior framing, purple silk lining and endpapers, double guard, smooth spine, gilded head, cover and spine, bordered slipcase(L. Houades). 109 original woodcuts in and out of text by CH.-E. PINSON. Edition of 700 copies on B. F. K. de Rives, this one no. 17, printed especially for G.F. Dussud. Spine uniformly lightened. The copy is finely bound by Léone Houades, bookbinder in Paris from 1943 to 1945 (Flety, p. 92).
