(1951). PETRON. THE SATYRICON. (Paris, Aux dépens d'un amateur, 1951). In-folio in sheets, in printed cover, ivory half-velin folder, publisher's slipcase. One of the finest productions under the artist's direction, published at the expense of Colonel Sicklès. It is illustrated with 33 original full-page burins by ANDRE DERAIN and numerous woodcuts engraved by Paul Baudier after drawings by the artist. The 33 burins had previously been engraved in 1934 to a design by Ambroise Vollard. Edition of 306 copies on Arches vellum, this one SPECIAL PRINTED FOR ANDRE DERAIN and enriched with a MANUSCRATED ENVOI SIGNED BY THE ARTIST to the painter Myriam Papazoff. Fine condition.
