(1847). GRANDVILLE. LES FLEURS ANIMEES. Introduction by Alph - Lot 118
(1847). GRANDVILLE. LES FLEURS ANIMEES. Introduction by Alph. Karr, text by Taxile Delord. Paris, G. de Gonet, 1847. 2 volumes bound in 1 volume in-8, black chagrin, ribbed spine, gilt lace inside, gilt edges, illustrated covers preserved (Lebrun relieur). In this edition, the illustrations include 2 frontispieces, 2 botanical plates in black and 50 in color, "very carefully retouched for engraving and coloring". The 132-page botanique des dames is bound in fine. Despite some foxing, this is a pleasant copy, bound by Lebrun, a bookbinder and gilder who was a pupil of Simier and established around 1830. (Vicaire III, 133, different collation).
