Equine saddlery for parade - Lot 88
Equine saddlery for parade
In leather and engraved cast brass. With belt-type buckle and leather strap at top for attaching to the horse's harness.
Made from a decorative curved plate, bearing the name "Johann Peitner Paffstetten n°67" in engraved Gothic script, with a decorative mantling at the top of the plate. Five leather straps extend from this plate, connected to the plate by an articulated leather link adorned with a riveted brass circular motif. Each strap begins with a domed, openwork brass circular motif, then is adorned with a trapezoidal motif pierced with dots. The straps are adorned with epaulet-shaped motifs ending in a point. Two horizontal brass supports are attached to the straps, and in the lower third, the straps are decorated with circular domed motifs attached with two tabs. The straps are decorated with two vertical grooves, each ending in a flat knot.
Very fine and rare saddlery work.
