Vendôme column Work in wood and metal, entirely painted black (over old polychromy). The Emperor, wearing a frock coat and bicorn, is installed at the top of the column, with his hand in his jacket, gazing into the distance. A gendarme stands below in the enclosure, in front of the gate. Four imperial eagles at the corners of the column. Column encircled with metal wire.
