Mug - Lot 29
Mug Carved wood (burr). Straight circular body, recessed lid with ball-shaped poucier, in stained wood. Curved handle adorned with inlaid black lozenges. A low molded crossbar and three small ball feet complete the set. Commemorative coins from the reigns of various kings and a queen of Sweden are set on the lid, and the lower crosspiece houses a set of coins bearing effigies of ancient gods, dated between 1715 and 1718. A medal under the handle probably indicates the cabinetmaker: "I.DALER S.M". Two old labels under the base, one of which is clearly legible: "H.BUKOWSKI (...) STOCKHOLM" (antique dealer).
