Small round pewter "Edelzin" dish. In the center, Emperor Fe - Lot 215
Small round pewter "Edelzin" dish. In the center, Emperor Ferdinand II of Habsburg on horseback with the inscription "FERDINAND : II.DGRO : IM: S:A:". The wing is adorned with a frieze of eleven equestrian portraits of Emperors of the House of Habsburg in reserves surmounted by their names.
The central medallion on the bottom right reads 1630, the date of creation of the model by Georges Schauss, who was awarded the title of Master in 1628 in Nuremberg.
His countermark can be found at the bottom of Rodolph's medallion: arms of Nuremberg - initials G.S.
These marks indicate the designer and date of creation of the mold, but do not specify the period of production, as our plate bears no founder's hallmark.
On the back, a C.W. mark with an arrow and an old ink inscription 1664.
(Local tearing of the wing and a small consolidation at the bouge).
17th century.
D. 20 cm
