Important bizarre brocade table rug, probably Sicily, circa 1707-1708, polychrome silk lampas and silver baudruche thread, pink damask ground; dense decoration of foliage scrolls, flowering horns and imaginary flower plants. Posterior mounting, cherry-red taffeta lining, gold metallic thread crest, (small accidents on top, stains on lining), 242 x 148 cm.
