Long cashmere shawl, India, circa 1860-1870,
black rosette crowned with multicolored petals filled with flowery arabesques. The slopes are decorated with an ogival cartouche with a tree of life flanked by stretched cashmere palms in a black and white scalloped frame punctuated with violet palmettes.
Fine espoliné cashmere weave in approx. 10 colors, embroidered fringed edges. Lined, (some minor wear), 322 x 136 cm.
