ORTHODOX WORK - 20th century Set of two pearl sandblasted embroideries the first depicting the dormition of the Virgin Mary on a wooden core. The face and hands are painted, while the rest of the body is adorned with silver, white and pink seed beads and small foils. H.10cm - L.34cm the second depicts the baptism of Christ by Saint John the Baptist, assisted by two angels bringing a white garment under the dove of the Holy Spirit. Engraving on a wooden core entirely embroidered with multicolored rocailles beads, with a border highlighted with star motifs. Cyrillic inscription at bottom. H.30,5 - L.39cm
