Large 1/40 scale model of a mixed boat (pilot boat, tug, fireboat) assigned to the Suez Canal Company at Port Said.
Sailing, formerly electrified, animated by various characters in various activities.
L. 115 cm - H. 58 cm approx.
This ship is named after Lieutenant-Commander Jean Mantelet, a former Suez Canal pilot and Companion of the Liberation for his heroic action in torpedoing the Resistance troop liner "Président Doumer" in Madeira on October 30, 1942. After organizing the evacuation of as many passengers as possible, Lieutenant-Commander Jean Mantelet returned to his command post and sank with the ship.
