The author, born in Montélimar, financially supported the Montgolfier brothers' research by launching subscriptions for the construction of balloons. Second edition for the first work, illustrated with a folded table and 9 out-of-text figures; the second volume, entitled "Première suite", is in the original edition and illustrated with 5 figures. Wormholes in the margins of the first few leaves, without affecting the text, a few minor defects, a wide-margined copy. (In French in the text, 175).
