[HERBIER]. Herbarium of 94 leaves, composed in the 18th cent - Lot 135
[HERBIER]. Herbarium of 94 leaves, composed in the 18th century, collected in 1 volume in folio, marbled calf, ornate ribbed spine, red edges (period binding).
An important medicinal herbarium compiled by an 18th-century apothecary, featuring 195 plant fragments carefully labelled with their Latin and French names, hand-captioned and classified by medicinal function (resolutive, antiscorbutic, sedative, cephalic, hysterical...). Each page is protected by a blank leaf, with a few wormholes and small tears affecting some specimens. A very good copy.
