In-folio of [18]-324-[47]-1bl.-[5]-13 pages, stamped vellum with a large decoration of foliage and figures and scenes in a central rectangle, with the initials I.G.V.H.Z.B.V.M. and the date 1585 (contemporary binding). Engraved title and several woodcuts in the text depicting utensils. Second edition of this famous work on thermalism. For the history of pharmacy, Thuneysser is important because he was the first to systematically analyze mineral waters and discuss the chemical substances of mineral waters, describing the apparatus needed to analyze and manufacture artificial waters. He also gives a complete description of German rivers: the Danube, Rhine, Elbe, Spree... The appendix on the Selbacher Bad is added here for the first time with its own title page.
