Indochina/Vietnam, late 19th/early 20th century Pair of rectangular panels in carved black lacquered wood inlaid with mother-of-pearl, the central compartment inlaid with ladies seated on a carriage, surrounded by carved compartments, the upper one with prunus branches (with a digitized lemon or a pomegranate) and the lower one with a butterfly or a container, all edges inlaid with mother-of-pearl decorated with battle scenes, immortals and flowering vases in various cartouches, flower motifs in the corners. H. 99 cm - L. 38.5 cm Crack to the central panel, minor damage to the decoration, chips to the carved parts and missing inlays.
