Tiwara Crest, Bamabara, Mali - Lot 182
Tiwara Crest, Bamabara, Mali Wood with dark patina, metal and upholsterer's nails The black patina, alternately deep dark and shiny, subtly intensifies the slender movement of the crest representing a schematized antelope. The animal's face, extended in a horizontal dynamic, features a long snout with a half-open mouth, while its small ears, stretched back, line up in a subtle parallel with its long, tapering horns.
