Japan, Meiji era (1868-1912) Cloisonné enamel on copper planter, of oval form with a swollen, gadrooned body, decorated with butterflies flying over a bed of irises on a turquoise background with spirals, floral friezes on the neck and above the foot, the interior and base enameled in turquoise.
