Japan, Edo period (1615-1868) Three iron tsuba (sword guards): a nagamaru-gata decorated with chased waves in relief, inlaid gold highlights, hitsu-ana filled in shakudo, with partly faded signature, a mokkô-gata with incised decoration of a plant and an openwork mill partly filled in shakudo (with worn patina), the last nagamaru-gata with stylized mushroom motif in kage-sukashi (the last: wear, oxidation and small chips).
