[Maîtres de l'affiche] Set of 21 plates from the series "Les Maîtres de l'affiche", a monthly publication containing color reproductions of the most beautiful illustrated posters by major French and foreign artists, published by Imprimerie Chaix. 1895 - 1896 Chromolithographs Sheets, overall: 40 x 29 cm AC All proofs are printed on vellum and bear the dry stamp of the Chaix printing house in the lower right corner (Lugt 1777c). We have the following plates: 15 (Cazals) - 58 - 82 (La revue blanche after the Toulouse-Lautrec poster) - 88 (Privat de Livemont) - 102 (Ibels, particularly badly damaged) - 105 - 107 - 111 - 130 - 132 - 139 - 143 (Manuel Robbe) - 153 - 162 (large gap) - 165 (Chéret, badly damaged) - 179 - 181 - 182 (Bières de la Meuse after the Mucha poster) - 225 - 229 (Chéret) - 230 The proofs are numbered in pencil. Many are poorly preserved: creases, soiling and dusting, early tears, chipped edges...
