Upper hinge split along entire length, some freckling as usual. The ex. is enriched with a beautiful autograph letter signed by the author to Sig r Gregory, Bastia li 5 aprile 1833, 2 p. ½ in-folio in Italian, followed by a note signed Giuseppe who is in charge of transmitting this letter. He received as librarian Filippini's remarkable work, and published with the support of Count Pozzo di Borgo... He also mentions reading your tragedy Sampiero and Gregory's project to write a history of Corsica, from the end of Filippini's to the present day. He also mentions his own history, which will cover the period from 1769 to 1830. A precious letter between two historians. Ex. complete with portraits of Sampiero, Paoli, Bonaparte and Saliceti, which are often missing. Interesting for the period 1769-1830. AP
