(Animal magnetism). FEYENS (Thomas). DE VIRIBUS IMAGINATIONI - Lot 138
(Animal magnetism). FEYENS (Thomas). DE VIRIBUS IMAGINATIONIS TRACTATUS. Lugdun. Batavorum, ex officina Elzeviriana, 1635. In-12, covered vellum (contemporary binding). Feyens (1567-1631) adopts here the curative virtues of imagination. According to him, "imagination is capable of transforming the body"; he suggests that maternal feelings during pregnancy are passed on to the child, and proves that the divine soul has been incarnated in the fetus since its third day. Handwritten ex libris on title. A fine copy.
