Japan, 19th century Two-part ivory Netsuke manju, with erotic subject, carved in shishiaibori of a young woman on her knees, Daruma appearing behind her freed from her wall (broken), on the reverse her flycatcher crossing the wall and the Kounsai signature (slightly faded). Remains of black and red polychromy, small chips on the edges. Diam. 4.6 cm; H. 1.4 cm Provenance : Collection of Mme R. We enclose its CITES certificate.
