Bakthiar carpet (cotton warp and weft, wool pile), Southwest Persia north of the Persian Gulf, circa 1900 H. 500 cm - L. 400 cm AC This important rug (by its size) features a large polychrome poly-lobed central medallion, extended by two pendants, and enhanced by a stylized multicolored floral design on a navy blue background against a tobacco yellow ground.
