Very long letter to his publisher about the republication of his books; he accepts the conditions offered by his publisher, but demands a new contract. "I begin by telling you immediately that I will consent to the new edition you wish to make of my works, with the reduction you believe necessary for the present state of your business and of the book trade, i.e. forty centimes of royalties per volume instead of the fifty-five which was included in our treaty of September 19, 1841, which I have in front of me, and whose conditions you have always fulfilled from edition to edition, until the last, in 1847 [...]. You tell me that Stello, my Poems and Cinq-Mars no longer exist, and I would like to know how much you still have left of Théâtre and Servitude et grandeur militaires [...]". MLL
