[ROUEN]. D'ANGERS, David. L.A.S. Paris, May 29, 1837. 2 pp. in-8. David d'Angers recommends the painter Paul Huet (1803-1869) for the position of director of the Musée de Rouen: "As the position of director of the Musée de Rouen is vacant, I have come to beg you graciously to give your support to Mr. Huet, whose remarkable talent is well known to you. By helping him with your protection, you will be doing a very honorable man a favor, and you will be helping the city of Rouen to make an acquisition it can only applaud. This position will enable him to work with all possible security in our beautiful country, which he understands so well. Do him this favor [...]". Clearly, this recommendation was unsuccessful. MLL
