France Pistolet de Garde du Corps du Roi 1814 Premier Type Wooden frame with long barrel, flintlock lock with difficult-to-read markings from the Manufacture Royale de Maubeuge, hallmarked "B" crowned by Daniel Bouissavy, brass trigger guard, trigger guard front carved with fleur-de-lys, side and round barrels, remains of gilded frieze at barrel start, no other inscriptions, brass mouthpiece typical of the model, iron ramrod, strong cap with crown and laurel leaves, the fleurs-de-lys having been hammered out under the July Monarchy, poor condition. L. 34 cm This weapon bears witness to its era and to the successive changes of Regime in France in the early 19th century. The absence of any modifications or improvements makes this pistol a particularly rare piece.
