Japan, Meiji era (1868-1912) Two enameled porcelain statuettes of women with erotic subjects (shunga), one seated in her blue kimono, her sex visible underneath, the other standing, covering her mouth and wearing only a jacket, bare legs (perhaps she originally had a removable skirt, lost). H. 17.5 cm and 26 cm Head glued back (seated), the other with restorations, missing parts and a crack on the edge of her jacket. Provenance: Sale of the Michel Simon Collection
