Paris, J-B. Garnery (1791-1794). 12 volumes bound in 6 in-12, hardback, label on spine. The illustration comprises 31 fine engravings, including the 12 frontispieces, which, with the exception of the first, have 2 compartments; it is interesting for the costumes of the provincials, which appear mainly in the frontispieces. This copy contains the text entitled "La dame du Palais de la Reine", which Rives-Childs says has been omitted from most copies of the new release with relay titles. Each volume corresponds to a month of the year, and the whole consists of 3825 pages, divided into 610 short stories, some of them very curious. In this copy, some of the figures from Les Contemporaines have been added alongside the 31 figures. Pagination error in volume 7, between p.1974 and 2021, but the copy is complete (handwritten notes in 1st volume). A very fresh copy of the Année des Dames Nationales with Garnery's relay title in attractive early 20th-century boards (Rives-Childs, p. 322) (Lacroix, p.344-68).
