FIRST EDITION PRINTED IN 1500 COPIES. One of Restif's best novels. It is rare to find it in its original text, as the censors and police demanded major reworkings, forcing the author to incorporate cartoons into the second edition (published at the same date). The work contains some very fine pages on 18th-century peasant life and customs in Lower Burgundy, entitled "Journées paysannes" (Peasant Days), mainly on the life of winegrowers, several pages browned, 4 stained, binding faded.
