Japan, Meiji era (1868-1912) Three Satsuma earthenware vases of lenticular (vertical) form on a foot, a bean-shaped openwork at the top, including a pair of vases decorated on either side with a scene depicted in a vast landscape, on a background of floral and geometric motifs, and a larger vase decorated on either side with a scene of figures in a garden in a medallion surrounded by butterflies, flowers and other motifs, the pair marked "Kawaa(i) sei/zo" on the base. H. 12 cm (the largest) H. 8.5 (the pair) LDM Larger one damaged and restored.
