(1536). BOUCHET (Jehan). LES ANGOYSSES ET REMEDES DAMOURS. Du traverseur en son adolescence. Poitiers, Jehan Enguilbert de Marnef frères, January 8, 1536. Small gothic in-4°, [8]-121-[3] pages, basane, ornate ribbed spine, red tr. (18th c. binding). Walking one morning in the woods, Bouchet hears the complaints of various lovers, which he recorded in his verses in the form of elegies entitled l'Amoureux transi sans espoir, l'Enfant banni qui aime par honneur, la Dame se complaignant de son déloyal amy... Bouchet supposes that, touched by the sorrows of these lovers, Minerva or Wisdom comes to give them advice that forms the Remèdes contre Folle Amour. ORIGINAL EDITION of one of the author's earliest books, very rare. Lined title, A4 leaf (with wood) is a facsimile on antique paper. Wear to binding, copy has good margins. (USTC 27624, 13 copies) (Viollet-le-Duc, II, 16) (Tchemerzine I, 77).
