(1519). CLICHTOVE (J). ELUCIDATORIUM ECCLESIASTICUM, ad officium ec clesiae pertinentia planius exponens, & quatuor libros complectens.
Basel, Johann Froben, August 1519.
In-folio of [6]-229-[1] leaves, half basane, ribbed spine (modern binding).
The title is in a fine woodcut frame by Urs Graf. Josse Clichtove (1472-1543), Flemish theologian and humanist, was one of the leading professors at the University of Paris and one of the first to write against Luther. He did so with erudition and solidity, his Latin being purer than that of the scholastics of his time. Vertical wormholes on several leaves. Handwritten bookplate (USTC, 649879).
