(1510). MISSALE AD USUM LUGDUNENSUM ECCLESIA AD LONGUM PEROPTIME ORDINATUM AC CASTIGATUM. Lyon, Joannes Huguetan. In fine Claudium Davost, al's de Troyes, April 27, 1510. Large 2-column gothic in-8 of [6 sur 10]-207 (mal chiffr. 205) leaves, brown morocco, richly decorated boards, gilt edges (fanfare binding dated 1619). Curious volume in red and black gothic type, decorated with 13 WOODBOOKS WITH COMPARTMENT FRAMING and figures and numerous initials illustrated with scenes of martyrs. These are the same vignettes as the missal à l'usage de Rome, printed in 1508 by Claude Davost for Etienne Gueynard, who lent his woodcuts drawn by Guillaume Leroy. The fanfare binding bears the initials M.A.B. on the first cover and I.G.M.F. on the second, and is dated 1619. Scattered handwritten annotations from the early 18th century, repairs with missing text at the corners and margins of several leaves, the title (replaced by a photo) and 3 leaves missing, numerous pages stained, endpapers renewed, binding faded (Baudrier XI, 304-5) (USTC 155096).
