(1492). CASSIODORE. VIRI DEI DE REGIMINE ECCLESIE PRIMITIVE HYSTORIA TRIPARTITA FELICITER INCIPIT. No place, name or date (Paris, Wolf, c. 1492). In-4° gothic with 108 unnumbered leaves, brown calf, boards stamped with several borders with various decorations (period binding). Rare. Printed on 2 columns. There are very few books printed in Paris by George Wolf; he practiced from 1489 to 1500 and must have been an engraver and type foundryman as well as a printer. He made his debut in 1489 at the Maison du Soleil d'Or, rue de Sorbonne, initially using Ulrich Gering's equipment. Then, in April 1493, we find him established at the sign of Sainte-Barbe, rue Saint-Jacques... (Claudin, Origine de l'imprimerie, II, 112).
