Fine earthenware dinner service, "Nella" model, composed of 95 pieces, with polychrome Japanese decoration of flowering stems, birds, insects and butterflies, including :

15 dessert plates D :22,5 cm
1 large oblong dish. L. 56 cm x 26.5 cm
1 large dish with drainer L: 48.5 cm x 40 cm
1 covered terrine H: 21.5 cm L: 31cm (chips under the heel)
2 covered vegetable dishes L: 26 cm (one cracked, one yellowed)
2 round deep dishes D: 28 cm & 31 cm (one cracked and yellowed)
1 round display D: 27 cm
1 oblong dish 39.2 cm x 32.5 cm
2 round display stands on low legs. H: 4.5 cm D: 25 cm
2 covered sauce boats with adjoining trays
L: 24.5 cm (stains on one)
1 covered mustard pot H: 9.5 cm
1 footed bowl H: 12.3 cm D: 24.8 cm (cracks)
1 bowl on low foot H: 10.2 cm D: 25 cm (yellowed, one chip),
11 cups H: 5.8 cm (4 with cracks, 1 handle glued back)
11 saucers D: 13.5 cm (1 stain, 1 shock, 1 restored)
1 covered coffee pot H: 22 cm
1 milk jug H: 9 cm
1 covered sugar bowl H: 15.5 cm
1 saucer D: 16.3 cm AJ
Marked: JVB and Nella. Late 19th century. One plate with a different mark on the reverse.
Note a plate with very raised enamels and vivid polychromy.
This "Nella" service was produced by Vieillard between 1870 and 1880.
