This vase, composed and executed by M. Ferry, is reproduced in "Formes de vases 1897-1920" as the Brimborion vase (Documentation from the Sèvres factory archives).
It is probable that our vase was a test model for the 1900 Universal Exhibition, where six Brimborion vases modeled by Ferry are listed under number 175 in the Catalogue des oeuvres exposées par les Manufactures Nationales de l'État (Gobelins- Sèvres- Beauvais) Paris. Librairie centrale des Beaux-Arts. 1900.
Similar models in the Musée des Beaux-Arts et d'Archéologie. Besançon, Musée des Beaux-Arts. Dijon, Musée de Dieppe, Musée National de la céramique. Sèvres, France.
We would like to thank Clotilde Le Forestier de Quillien, Heritage Curator at the French National Archives, for the information she provided.
