ECOLE DE PARIS, attributed to Victor Barbizet (1805 - 1870) Round glazed earthenware dish with trompe-l'oeil decoration of three fish on leaves, reptile, salamander, beetle, butterfly, shells and leaves in relief on a blue granite ground. Blue and manganese jaspered reverse. Follower of Palissy in the rustic figulines style. Late 19th century D. 34 cm AJC Restored chip on the wing.
