Revolver "Protectorat du Tonkin Résidence Générale" Shooting Prize
Wooden stock with ring cap, bronzed iron frame engraved on the left side with "Protectorat du Tonkin Résidence Générale n°310" and on the other side with "Manufacture de St Etienne" markings, 6-shot fluted cylinder, fluted and round barrel, stamped 1874 on the upper side and dated 1875 on one side. The left side of the grip has a white metal inclusion engraved "Prix de tir offert à M.Tran le ministre de la Marine et des colonies".
A similar model is known to exist, so it is likely that the general residence of Tonkin armed its natives.
