H. 100 cm - W. 156 cm - D. 74 cm JB-HL From the end of the 18th century, several Parisian locksmiths specialized in the manufacture of iron seats and folding beds, in the interests of hygiene and to avoid bedbugs: Tranoi, Courbin, Perrache, Desouches and Benjamin Geslin, inventor of the "Geslin beds and armchairs". "I succeeded in arranging the iron beds to lend themselves to all the positions desirable for convenience. I've also applied this idea to the manufacture of folding iron armchairs, which, as we'll see below, can be set so low that they can be likened to beds.
