In-folio of 645-[38]-2 bl. pages, brown calf, ribbed spine, red pages (18th century binding). This is the best-known work by the jurist Jean Papon, King's Counselor, born in 1505 in Croizet near Roanne. An enlarged fourth edition acknowledged by the author, it features a superb wood-engraved frame on the title, with a portrait and numerous sifted-ground initials.
