Lacquer inro with ink stone, Japan, 19th century The rectangular, black-lacquered case with inlaid mother-of-pearl decoration of six fish on the two long sides, the movable inner part containing a long, narrow ink stone, the sagemono attached to a cord with a round agate ojime, and a netsuke in the form of a double blue-white porcelain flask with landscape decoration (without himotoshi but with an orifice and forming a container - perhaps for ink). Mother-of-pearl missing, lacquer chipped, netsuke stopper lost. H. 9.5 cm - L. 4 cm
