Large in-8 volume, ruby morocco, boards decorated with vertical gilded fillets and a garland of mosaic roses framed in geometric motifs, ribbed spine adorned with the same decoration, mandarin morocco lining adorned with a vertical decoration of gilded fillets and diamonds, double guard, original copper set in the first board, gilded edges on witnesses, covers and spine, edged slipcase (H. Blanchetière, April 5, 1927). Xanthis - Divine Bontemps - Hyalis - Rovère et Angisèle. These 4 tales are illustrated with 25 color etchings by Sylvain Sauvage. Edition of 271 copies only, this being a collaborator's copy on Wathman signed by the illustrator and enriched with an original plate and several suites of illustrations (3 or 4 states, color decomposition, in black, in bistre). One spine cracked, otherwise a superb copy in Blanchetière's mosaic-lined binding.
