Very large rectangular Boulle marquetry toiletry set with retractable side handles. It contains, in vermeil-mounted crystal: a pair of covered powder boxes, a pair of covered oval boxes, a covered rectangular box with holder, a rectangular box, a large rectangular comb box, a travel inkwell in its leather case marked P. HAMM Patent, a mirror, a pair of rectangular flasks, a square flask, a round covered crystal box, a flat crystal glass (and its silver lid), a large round flat-bottomed vermeil tumbler, fully engraved (Master Silversmith: GT or CT, a palm, an inkwell (?)), two leather cases, three brushes, a tray with lid containing a set of accessories mounted in tortoiseshell, steel, silver, ... (penknives, penholders, corkscrews, hooks, etc.). Entirely trimmed in purple velvet. Unencrypted. Circa 1850-1860. H. 15.5 cm - W. 35.8 cm - D. 25 cm BL A few missing pieces.
