Aristide Maillol composed and engraved the 48 ORIGINAL woodcuts for this edition, with composition, layout and printing by Philippe Gonin. Unique edition of 500 copies, all on paper with the artist's watermark; one of only a few copies numbered in Roman numerals at large margins and with a double suite of woodcuts preserved in the second volume. A good copy signed by the publisher and the artist and ENRICHED with a suite of 12 engravings, some in sanguine. Scattered foxing. ED
