[STENDHAL] - CONSTANTIN (A). ITALIAN IDEAS ON SOME FAMOUS PAINTINGS. Florence, Cabinet scientifique-littéraire de J. P. Vieusseux, 1840. In-8, half long-grained raspberry morocco, corners, smooth spine decorated in the style of Thouvenin, gilt head, untrimmed (Semet et Plumelle).
ORIGINAL EDITION with a frontispiece depicting the house of La Fornarina. This work, three-quarters of which is by Stendhal, was written in collaboration with his friend Constantin, a porcelain painter. Washed and glued copy, in very good condition. ED
