Small folio, turquoise morocco, gilded fillets framing the boards, wide inner lace, ribbed spine decorated with gilded cupids in a red morocco patch, gilded edges, covers preserved (Asper Frères). Second edition illustrated with numerous in-text engravings and 18 charming hors-texte compositions by Madeleine Lemaire. Binding a little darkened, several serpents missing, some freckling.
